Junior Level 

Dancers at this age/level will experience a 45 minute or 1 hour classes focusing solely on one dance technique or genre. All students at this age are required to take Ballet as a foundation of all dance movement in addition to any of the other dance genres, jazz, modern, acro, Musical Theater .

Intermediate Level 

Dancers at this age/level will experience a 1 hour classes focusing solely on one dance technique or genre. All students at this age are required to take Ballet as a foundation of all dance movement in addition to any of the other dance genres, tap, jazz, modern and hip hop.

Elementary Level 9+

Children continue to develop proper body alignments and positions, terminology and center floor work. They will develop Ballet, Tap and Jazz vocabulary with an increased amount of time, level of intricacy and length of focus and ability. All classes are 45 minutes-1Hr


Combo Classes 

Our Combo Class Program allows dancers to attend a one hour class per week incorporating the fundamental teachings of three different genres: Ballet, Tap and Jazz.  All Students must be enrolled in Ballet. Students are placed in classes based on their experience with age being secondary criteria. The dancers are continually evaluated by our faculty to insure proper placement.


KinderCombo (5-6)

Children begin learning proper body alignments and positions, terminology and center floor work. They will have their first experience in a dance class structure and will be introduced to basic ballet, tap and introductory jazz depending on the combo selection.


KinderCombo Class B/A

Consists of a combined focus in Ballet (B) and Tap (A) for a class period of 1hr.


KinderCombo Class B/C

Consists of a combined focus in Ballet (B) and Jazz (C) for a class period of 1hr.


KinderCombo Class C/B/A

Consists of a combined focus in Jazz (C), Ballet (B), and Tap (A) for a class period of 1.5 hrs. (STRONGLY ENCOURAGED)


PRIMARY COMBO CLASSES (7-8)

Children learn proper body alignments and positions, terminology and center floor work. They will be increasing their growth and development in classroom structure and knowledge of basic ballet, tap and introductory jazz depending on the combo selection.


Primary 

Consists of a combined focus in Ballet (B) and Jazz for a class period of 90 minutes.


Primary Combo Class B/C

Consists of a combined focus in Ballet (B) and Tap (C) for a class period of 90 minutes.


Primary Combo Class C/B/A

Consists of a combined focus in Jazz (C), Ballet (B), and Tap (A) for a class period of 2.25 hrs. (STRONGLY ENCOURAGED)

OPEN DANCE PROGRAM/RECREATIONAL DIVISION

Our open school program provides the casual students the outlet they desire for the enjoyment of the activity. Recreational students may take as many classes desired and are registered by level and age group.  A minimum of one ballet technique class per week is required to take Jazz, Acro, Musical Theater or Modern classes. Tap and Hip Hop do not require ballet. The attendance policy is more flexible and performing is optional (although most participate). All dancers receive mid year written evaluations from each of their teachers.


Open Dance Level Descriptions

Creative Movement (3-4 years)

This class is geared for boys and girls to offer development in coordination, musical awareness, listening skills while allowing them to explore their natural creativity in movement. This class allows your preschooler to learn many skills to help with their physical development, social skills and coordination. The emphasis is on developing gross motor skills, muscle control, balance and spatial awareness, as well as listening skills. Rhythmical patterns and props will be used to create a fun moving environment! Class is loosely based on basic introductory ballet. Students must be potty trained in order to enroll.

TOT HOP (3-5 years)
Has your child wanted to, "dance like the big kids?” Well now is his or her chance!  TOT Hop is hip-hop for the younger set.  This class focuses on rhythm, body awareness, simple choreography and high-energy fun, all set to cool, funky, age-appropriate music!

Tumblin' TOTS (4-6 years)

This is structured class lightly based on acro and is for 4-6 year old children where we will explore gross motor movements, forward rolls, stretching, imagination and exercises for balance and coordination. 

TINY Tappers (3-4 years)

Lets make music with our feet! Your little one will have a blast keeping time to music with TINY tap shoes on their feet. This half-hour class is an fun introduction to basic tap steps and rhythmical exercises.

​Boogie Babies (12 months-3 years)

Young participants will be stimulated through music, Instruments, dance and creative play. Marching, dancing, singing and special activities will be a part of this interactive adult/child playtime.
Participants should wear comfortable clothes and be accompanied by a parent or guardian.


PRE-PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM (COMPANY TEAMS)

​​The Pre-Professional Program at ADF prepares dedicated and passionate dancers ages 6-17 for a career or increased performance experience in the dance field. We believe that it is important to prepare our dancers for both the concert dance world and also the commercial dance industry. Dancers in the pre-professional participate in a rigorous yet fun and rewarding training program and a performance/competition season that will prepare them for entry into a college dance program or a performing and teaching career. 
Entry: Students are either invited into the program by the Director or by audition. 


Requirements:


Company dancers attend a range of 4-6 hours of technique class per week over the course of each 16 to 17-week session; students must commit to attending the program for at least one calendar year. Rehearsals for team are separate class times/separate fees.


  1. 1-2 ballet classes ( 1-2 hours/wk)
  2. 1 traditional modern class (1-/wk)
  3. 1 Jazz class (45 min-1 hour/wk)
  4. Minimum choice of one but could take all:
  5. 1 Acro class (1 hour/wk) **Preferred but not required**
  6. 1 Hip Hop (1 hour/wk)
  7. 1 Tap class (1hour/wk)
  8. 1 Musical Theater (1hour/wk) ages 9+


When offered, Pointe is only available under the teacher/director permission. Group Rehearsals for performances/competitions will be held on a weekly basis. 


Additional rehearsals can and will be scheduled as needed. Dancers will be advised well in advance.
In order to maintain good standing in the program, students must follow all program requirements, including the attendance policy, dress code, demonstrable technical/artistic growth, respectful behavior and good academic standing. Pre-Professionals receive evaluations at the end of each session to help with achieving personal and technical goals in the program.
